This is where ReadPartner comes in: ReadPartner is an AI tool designed to summarize information instantly so you don’t need to read entire texts or watch videos in full, and save valuable time.
This guide will walk you through the usage of ReadPartner step-by-step, cover its main features, and show you how you can customize your summaries for the best results!
Step 1: Accessing ReadPartner
Go to readpartner.com. To start using ReadPartner, the first thing you need to do is to create an account. Do not worry – ReadPartner takes security very seriously, all your data is encrypted and anonymized, making sure only you know how you use ReadPartner.
To begin the process, click “Start Using - It’s free”, and follow the sign up process.

Step 2: Upload the information
Once you have signed up, you will see the ReadPartner online portal interface. The dialogue box in the centre of your screen is where you can upload the media you want summarized.

There are three ways you can give information to ReadPartner in order to receive a summary:
- Plain text
- Link to a website or YouTube video
- File (PDF, DOCX, PPTX...)
Plain text
The simplest way to summarize information is to simply copy some text, and then paste it in the input field!
Links
ReadPartner accepts links to websites. It can summarize a wide range of web-based content, including but not limited to news articles, research papers, YouTube videos and blogs. In short, almost any web page can be summarized by ReadPartner.
The process for summarizing web pages is very simple: copy the link of the page you want summarized from the address bar at the top:

Then, paste it in the ReadPartner dialogue box:

Files
You can upload files to ReadPartner for summary by clicking the “Attach” button in the dialogue box:

Your operating system window will open, where you can locate and select the file you want ReadPartner to summarize.
ReadPartner currently accepts the following file formats:
- TXT
- PPTX
- DOC
- DOCX
You do not need to memorize the formats, the “Attach” button has a tooltip you can see if you mouse over it, listing all the currently accepted file formats.

Step 3: Generating the summary
Once you have entered the information you want summarized, all you need to do to begin the process is to click the green arrow here:

Once you have your summary, you can copy, share, and export it to file if you wish. You can find the appropriate controls underneath the generated summary:

Copy
Simply click the copy button, and then you can paste the summary wherever you want.
Share
The share button lets you send the summary to your social media accounts instantly. ReadPartner currently supports WhatsApp, LinkedIn, X, and Email. If you want to share the summary elsewhere, do not worry – simply use the “Copy” button and paste it to any social media you want.
Export
The “Export” button allows you to save the generated summary to your device as a file. Currently supported export formats are PDF and DOCX.
How to customize your summaries
ReadPartner allows summary customization. To access the settings, click the cog icon in the dialogue box:

The settings window will pop up. It currently contains the following options:

- Response Language
Here you can choose the language for the created summaries. ReadPartner currently supports English, Japanese, Dutch, Russian, and German, with French, Korean, and Ukrainian coming soon.
- Response Behaviour
Here you can choose between Faster and Smarter, which are different AI models. The Faster model gets the summary quicker, but it provides less accuracy than the Smarter model. Which to choose is up to you: they are both viable models, but if you want to make sure your summary highlights all the core points made in the source text or video with high precision, choose the Smarter one. If you want a quick digest to grasp the main idea of the content, the Faster model is the way to go.
- Response Length
This setting lets you configure the level of detail of your summary. The longer versions will dive deeper into important details of the summarized content, while the shorter versions allow you to receive a quick rundown of the content without going into every part and aspect of the article.
- Response Type
ReadPartner can present summaries in two different ways: a bullet-point list, or a column of text. Which to choose depends on your personal preference or the task at hand, but we find that, generally, the column type fits articles that cover a single idea in detail a little bit better, and bullet points are better suited for articles that cover many different aspects of something.
Of course, you don’t need to know this in advance, you can start with the column format, for example, and if you feel like the bullet-point format would suit this content better, simply switch it in the settings.
Summarizing content made even more convenient: ReadPartner Chrome Extension
You can install the ReadPartner Chrome extension for your Google Chrome browser to make the process of summarizing content more streamlined. This extension will allow you to summarize content at the click of a button without copying text or links and pasting them in a different browser tab.
You can get the extension by clicking “Add to Chrome” on the main page:

This will take you to ReadPartner's Chrome web store page, where you simply need to click “Add to Browser”. This extension is supported by all Chromium-based browsers, the two most popular being Google Chrome and Opera.

Once you click “Add to Browser”, the extension will download and install automatically, and you will be taken to a page showing how to start using the extension:

We recommend not skipping step 1 here because pinning the app to your taskbar makes it a lot more convenient to use.
How to use the Chrome extension
Once you have the Chrome extension installed, using it is as easy as clicking a single button. When you open a page with an article you want to summarize, simply click the ReadPartner icon in your toolbar.

The process of summarizing the page will begin automatically once you click the icon, no extra action is needed.

The extension window has all the control elements the web version does, with summary settings at the top, and share and export at the bottom.
The only thing that you would still need the web version for is summarizing documents. To upload a file, visit app.readpartner.com as the extension is focused on on-the-go web content summary.
Another extremely useful feature available with the Chrome extension is selection summary, which allows you to summarize selected text only. To use it, select any text, and right-click it. You will see the summary option in the drop-down.
